Cemeteries that covered Worksop
« on: Friday 02 May 14 17:18 BST (UK) »
My ancestors came from Worksop and their surname was BARTROP. I am wanting to find out which cemeteries they would have been buried in. If anyone can advise which one's were near to Worksop in the 1800's. Thank you.

Hello  :)

Welcome to Rootschat.

On the Nottinghamshire Family History burial Cd there are 117 entries for Bartrop between 1780 to 1900, with 72 of them buried at Worksop Priory, six have the spelling Barthrop.

If you give a few names you are looking for, maybe we could help?

Regards

Sheila.

Here are a couple of links as to where some of the Worksop cemeteries are and the years when they were first opened.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
One of my ancestors was called Robert Bartrop and he lived in Worksop. He died in 1866 aged about 90. I have found deaths for my Bartrop ancestors but was wondering which cemetery they would have been buried in.
Thank you for your help. Jan
