Denise,  had a look and nothing coming up.

Any Birthdates for Mark and Esther?

Where were they coming from:  England or Ireland?

Did Mark stay in US after Esther & children returned to Eng/Ire and then on to Aus?

If they came in 1850, they may have misssed 1850 Census and if Esther/childen left by 1854?  --  next census is 1860.

Looked for Mark in 1860  but nothing?

Database for Passenger List is beginning 1851 -- Arghh!!

Have you tried any on line sights for Passenger Lists yet?

Thanks very much - will set it all out properly and you might be able to do better.   Have to go off site now.  Will contact you again.
Mark and Esther came from London, England.
They were married in 1845 in London. Have no idea when they went to USA.  and dont know what happened to him, deceased, divorced etc.
did you try Marc or Marcus.  Esthers maiden name was Nathan.   Will try and set it out better later.
cheers

Denise,  kept on looking for Marcus/Marc/Mark using bd circa 1820 --  nothing coming up.  So when you get the chance to post again,  let us know everything you know or think you know and we will give it another try.

If Mark died between arr approx 1850 and his wife/children leaving in 1854,  there may not be an on-line record of his death.   Not sure about NY procedures for recording deaths then, but may not be good records or anything searchable on line.  Death is  more likely than divorce  --  pretty rare and in those days!!

Regards,
kathy
