Thomas Green, Talbot Inn, Bristol
« on: Sunday 11 May 14 18:22 BST (UK) »
I am trying to trace the burial place of my 5x great grandfather, Thomas Green. He was a watch maker from Liverpool but died in Bristol in 1811 (seemingly some time between July and December).

His obituary in the Gentlemans Magazine reads, "At the Talbot Inn, Bristol, after three days' illness, Thomas Green, esq. of Wyke's Court, Liverpool; an honourabe tradesman and an accomplished gentleman."

Looking for his burial but also looking for any information about the Talbot Inn at that time.

Welcome to RootsChat! ;D

There was an old Talbot in Penn Street, Bristol?
Another Talbot was on Wells Road?
Yet another on Redcliff Hill.
Talbot Tavern on Redcliff Street.
Talbot Inn (and London Tavern) on Bath Street.

For cemeteries and graveyards, see: http://www.bafhs.org.uk/burial-data.

There were 26 such places closed in 1848, Public Health Act.
And another 13 existing (in 1848) that had restrictions placed upon them.

You probably need to contact Bristol Records Office?
