Hello Elwood

I've looked at my list and can see the following Edwards:

Jones, Edward, 2 Kington Cottages, 2/7 R.W.F

Jones, Edw. Osborne, 15 Long Bridge Street, Corpl., A.S.C.

The list I have belonged to a GG Aunt of mine.  It was compiled by Edmund O Jones, on November 9th 1915 and list Llanidloes men "who are now serving or have served during the present war".  No regimental numbers are listed, only name, address and batallion.

Do you know if he died during the war, or was he a survivor?  If he died you can search for his medal card at http://www.cwgc.org/

Bennett, Owen, Owens, Hudson, Crisp, Challinor/Challoner/Chaloner, Lewis, James, Richards, Simon, Mills, Evans, Trow, Davies, Turner, Beaton/Betton, Lloyd, Jenkins, Evans.....and a ton of JONES!!!!

Shirely - Nice to hear from you, it's been quite a while hasn't it?!! I don't get on here as much as I'd like unfortunately, but I do love my job so can't complain.  You will have to let me know the details of some of your brickwalls, I enjoyed looking for Jane Trow!!!  I hope you are keeping well :)

Hi Lloydy,

I've just seen that you looked in your book and found two names for me - thanks very much for doing so.  It's much appreciated.  Sorry I've only just noticed your reply - shame on me for not being on the forum for so long!

Best wishes

Hi Chrissy

No problem at all :)  I don't come on here very often nowadays - have stopped the family history for the time being.

Good luck with all your searching.

I have a list of Llanidloes Men who seved during the First World War.

There are just far too many to list them all (approximately 280 names) on here but if anyone would like me to look up any of their ancestors please let me know.

Each man is listed with his address and regiment.

Dear Lloydy, I know your original message was posted a long time ago but hope springs eternal, so here goes:
I'm looking for info on my great-grandfather, John Maurice Jones. I know that the family lived at 13, Cemetery Square. I do NOT know if that was before or after WW1. He was a private in the Royal Welch Fusiliers. I would be so grateful for any info

Camm: Liverpool and Cheshire
Guest: Sedgley, Wolverhampton and Birmingham
Owen: LLanidloes, Mont.
Jones: Llanfyllin, Mont; Merthyr Tydfil, Glams.

Hi Nanny No1

You're in luck :D  Here he is:-

Jones, John M., 13, Cemetery Square, 1/7 R.W.F

He was in the same battallion as my Great Uncle John Frederick Jones, 39 Smithfield Street.

I've just had another good luck through the list and am amazed at how many are relatives of mine.....I hadn't realised before!!!!!
