FTM App
« on: Thursday 15 May 14 16:01 BST (UK) »
I have my tree on laptop with FTM 2012 edition.  I now have a smartphone and am delighted to see there is an app in Google Store for Ancestry which I have installed.  Now question is, how do I get my data onto the version in the smartphone?

I just want to be able to look up raw details when travelling/visiting so a static version is all I need,

Apologies if this has been covered before.

Upload your tree to Ancestry (if you are a member) makes sure you list it as private if you don't  want everyone to see it. The you can sync it back to you app by signing into Ancestry. If you have any trouble doing it then ring Ancestry up and they will talk you through it. They are ver helpful. And changes are made on each as you make them

Thank you for your advice.  I am no longer an Ancestry subscriber and anyway would want my tree to be private so saw no point in uploading it.  But I suppose there is a case to be made to have tree 'in the cloud' so not in danger of being lost if laptop has a meltdown/stolen.

I think you might find that it is an Ancestry app rather than a FTM app and only works if you have a tree on Ancestry.
