Confinement
« on: Friday 16 May 14 08:02 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I recently came across a cause of death that appears to be given as "confinement". Does anyone know what this meant in mid-Victorian England?
                     Many Thanks

Pregnancy/labour/giving birth? all spring to mind

Might there be a corresponding birth in the indexes?
