Hi,looked about and pulled up a few bits. William Hayes' wife's name was Johanna and she was born in Carlow in 1871. As to their children I found the following;
James Hayes born Apr-June 1895 Carlow
Margaret Hayes born Jan-March 1896 Carlow
Christopher Hayes born Oct-Dec 1898 New Ross,Wexford
Anastatia Hayes Apr-June 1901 Wexford
Thomas Hayes Jan-March 1902 Wexford
Mary Hayes born either 1903 or 1905 New Ross,Wexford
Hannah Hayes born Apr-June 1906 New Ross,Wexford
John Hayes born Oct-Dec 1907 New Ross,Wexford
Katie Hayes born Apr-June 1910 New Ross,Wexford
It also appears that William and Hannah married in Oct-Dec 1894 in New Ross,Wexford
Griffiths Valuation 1848-1864:
James McCabe townlands: Clonmore and Tomnasock
parish: Old Leighlin
William Hayes Sr.
William Hayes Jr both townland: Killedmond
parish: Kiltennell
these are where both fathers (and in William's case grandfather)were residing during this time. In James McCabe's case, there were also several others who were residing in the parish of Old Leighlin at the same time; John, Loughlin, Bridget,Mary, Patrick and Thomas McCabe.
In St Lazerian churchyard,Old Leighlin,Carlow, I found the following headstone:
James McCabe died 22 Nov 1927 age 80 of Tomnasock husband of Catherine
erected by his son John
Catherine McCabe died 20 Dec 1940 age 78 wife of James
this matches with the James McCabe/Catherine McCabe who appear in Old Leighlin in the 1901 and 1911 census. He could be father or brother to (Jo)Hannah.
I also found a James McCabe who was born @ 1806 and died in 1883 in Carlow who could be grand or great grandfather.
Also, discovered that it appears that William Hayes may have been a Protestant and his children were raised Catholic because of their mother or he may have converted to Catholicism.

In the 2 Jan 1834 Voters List I found a John McCabe in Annagar,Old Leighlin who held land valued at £10 so was allowed to vote.He may have been a brother of John's as Patrick McCabe in Griffiths Valuation resides in that townland which may have been passed down to him.
If I may make a couple of suggestions; I would contact groni.ie online and get a copy of William and Hannah's marriage cert to see the names of the mothers which would clear up who the James McCabe in Old Leighlin is. You can order the cert online and groni can e-mail it to you. Also, you could go to your nearest LDS (Latter Day Saints) library and have a look at parish registers for Hayes and McCabes to see if any other info is there. For Dunleckny (which may have info for Old Leighlin) baptisms are from 1 Jan 1820- 27 June 1841 and 1 July 1841- 25 Dec 1857 and marriages from 8 Jan 1820- 26 June 1841 and 8 July 1841-28 Nov 1857. If I can help anymore let me know,Kim
