Thank you for taking the time to respond. I have tried all of these sources but had no joy with finding details on Ned or Mary, as I suspect their marriage may have been before the records began. I have had great success with other parts of the family, so all is not lost.

In 1911, Mary states 13 children born with 11 living.
There are 6 children at home.

1901 there are 9 children at home (the six above plus 3).

In both censuses, Richard is the oldest being 28yrs and 40 yrs.

His birth from baptism and civil registration shows a December 1870 birth.

If they were married pre civil registration, you would expect 2 or 3 children at least before Richard.

Really, this is just a thought as I also have searched but nothing shows up.
In that area, I find, that if you have  a surname to search, it is very difficult as there are always so many!

Having same Surname is very handy for Richard's Baptism...... have you looked for Marriage after Baptism?

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I just looked at Catholic indexes 1860s but nothing and that’s a good idea hallmark but can’t see a marriage either.
Perhaps they did marry in a different parish or some church records are missing.
Griffiths Valuation just has a Bryan Cane in Mullaghroe.
