Good evening,

Just been reading through this again. Realised you said Amelia is in East Grinstead cemetery, commonly known as Mount Noddy cemetery. In fact that is on the sign, it is divided into denominational sections which will make a search easier. It is also the other side of the road from where I am shooting tomorrow so if I get a chance will pop over for a quick look.

PS send E-mail address by PM and I will send both photo's in full size, too big for on here.

Further to my last message, I have now found the Site and Grave Number for Amelia Pattenden:

Stone Number:  11
 Yard:   East Grinstead Cemetery
Inscription:
AMELIA PATTENDEN   Occupation Widow  aged 78
Died at East Grinstead Sackville College     burial 1st May 1869

Grave no.266

I have confirmed with the Cemetery Dept that she is indeed in the Queen's Road Cemetery. However, as this is a locked Cemetery, - I don't expect anyone to try and photograph the gravestone for me... Visits have to be booked in advance and are 'supervised visits' for which a £15.00 fee is charged.

Interestingly, she has company in her grave... 5yr old Charlotte Mary Dyer, (Amelia's G/Grandchild) was also Buried there in 1878.

Many thanks for all of the help from on here with this.
Romilly.

Good evening Romilly,

Read and replied to your PM before reading your post on here. But as I say, I'm intrigued by this now.
