JM  I have an image copy of Eleanor Elizabeth Vistarini's birth cert.
Her father is Hector Fernando Vistarini
Her mother is Mary Wilton.  It is clearly Wilton, not Walton.

Thanks for that, but may I gently again ask .....

Do you have the birth cert or official transcription for Hector F and Mary VISTARINI's daughter Eleanor E?  birth registered Glen Innes, in 1885 (NSW BDM #19687) .... what is the info about Eleanor's parents and also for Eleanor's older siblings?

Cheers,  JM

There’s a Hector ROBINSON’s death indexed at Qld, in 1891 ….index has aged 33 years, born in Victoria.  (# C43)

Cheers,  JM

Hector died on 24 Jan 1891.  All three children are listed as his children.  The box for marriage details is blank.

Hector’s details are consistent across the records except that at his death he was called Hector ROBINSON.  The newspaper reports and death record are both in the name of Hector Robinson.  It seems that he had been working and living under the Robinson name.  Why? We don’t know.  Mary’s surname changes at every reference – so if someone was hiding I suspect it was Mary.  (The children’s birth records are all in the VISTARINI name.)

May I ask for the informant's details, including their stated relationship to Hector ... Perhaps Robinson is simply the surname response from the informant to the question "mother's name"  perhaps Robinson is the informant's mother's nee name  :)

Cheers,  JM

Hi. more replies

Dundee: I am guessing that "Bando" is "Bando Station" near Gunnedah

Giblet & Sparrett:  That looks good for Mary's birth, if we can find a marriage to match it.  There is a Mary Wilton marrying Joseph Calwell at Maitland in 1879. Could that be Arron and Phoebe's daughter?  Did Hector run off with a married woman?  That would explain Mary's name being so changeable.

JM: The document calls itself a "Birth Certificate", but the body of it is an image copy, hand written, not typed (which transcript birth certificates usually are)  The image looks like it is a copy of the original. It is easy to read, with some slight speckling around the body text showing that the body is a scanned copy.
There are no older siblings for Eleanor.
Father: Hector Fernando Vistarini, Labourer, age 26, Pleasant Creek, Victoria
mother: Mary Wilton, age 27, Bando NSW

JM: I have Hector Robinson's death cert and I am quite happy that he is Hector Vistarini.  It also fits with the family story of Hector's whereabouts and death and Achilles V's trip to Qld to collect Hector's kids.
The informant on Hector's death Cert was William Thompson (friend).  Hector's wife died 8 months earlier.

Wivenhoe: We are given to understand Florence was Hector junior's girlfriend.  They were not married, but she received an allowance from his pay, as I understand it. Like Laura she hoped for some compensation for his death at Gallipoli

Regards
Steve
