Re "Gladys Esther Rogerson Renfrey" it might be worth investigating the birth of "Esther Rogerson" in Gateshead, Mar qtr 1901, in case the birthdate is inaccurate on the baptism record.
She should be on the 1901 census if this is her.
Added: per 1901 census she seems to be a daughter of a Philip & Annie, so apparently a red herring. RG13/4760/89/35.
I would not discount this, it may be worth looking to see if Philip, as a connection with Esther, Southern's wife
1881 census RG11/504/21/36 There is Philip Rogerson b 1862 Sheriff Hill also in the household is Esther Rogerson b 1881 Sheriff Hill
Ah yes. Young Esther was a niece of Esther senior. I suggest it would be worth tracing what happened to Philip & Annie, in case their daughter Esther was orphaned young.
