Why does Ancestry going down affect my Family Tree Maker as I have that down loaded.  Could it be that I have them both synced?

Mine will open but wont let me go into my trees. I'm using FTM 2014 and that is synced as well. That is a nuisance if that happens everytime Ancestry is down.

It is the FTM that worries me. If my trees were not synched or I cancelled my Ancestry subscription would I still be able to work on my tree ???  >:(

This is very annoying. Should ask for a refund of a day's subscription  >:(.

I don't understand why we can't open FTM.....doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway, I thought I'd try another line of research, via www.cityark.medway.gov.uk

......and guess what?  :o :o :o

That's down too :'(
Best wishes HL

In the past, when I've had no internet access, I've always been able to work on my Family Tree Maker.  So what is the difference this evening?

I think you can unsync the trees can't you? So presumably if you stop subscribing to Ancestry you could still use FTM.
