Hi,

Unfortunately the earlier passenger lists do not give a lot of detail. Ormond White was 21 years old. Occupation :- farmer. Departing London for Montreal on the Sarmatian arriving 2 June 1906.

Hi Sandra,
I don't know if the record is for the person I am searching for. I was wondering if there may be some other info from around that time, maybe census  :-\

Hi,

No couldn't see anything for an Ormond White. Have you got the parents names ?

Checking back on your previous posts - 1891 Census for St Anne Westminster Soho could show this family.

RG12 Piece 88 Folio 142 Page 17

Richard White  34
Wm (Reads Mrs on the image) White  34
Richard White  14
William White  9
George White  6 Born Islington. London.
Ormond White  4
Rubin White  2 Born Charing London

From other posts we discovered that brother Reuben White was at a farm school, Bisley Surrey (Ecclesiastical parish) St John the Baptist  in 1901. Having re-checked that particular census - there was also an Edward White aged 13 from London listed just below Reuben - more than likely this was his brother Ormond rather than Edward.
Have you tried to find an Edward White rather than an Ormond White  ?

Hi,
His Father was Richard, he died 1891. Mother Elizabeth Mary, not sure when she died. Could be both parents had died before the 1901 census, as brother Reuben was at the farm school.

I have wondered myself if the Edward White, shown with Reuben in 1901, is his brother, only shown as Edward not Ormond. 'Ormond' such an unusual name. I must admit, I have tended to concentrate on using the name Ormond.

Another related thread on Ormond White

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=665663.msg5109733

Reply 1 from Annette gave a possible for Edward - did this check out?

If the 'Edward' in 1901 is the 'Ormond' in 1891 wonder whether this death entry could be relevant (although I can't find a birth entry for this person either):

Edward Arthur O. White - b.3/12/1886, d. 1975 Lambeth.

Can't help but wonder what the 'O' above stands for.
