Merely to add some helpful advice on the subject of sending small amounts in foreign currencies, based on my own experience.
If you have, or can get easily, the foreign currency, then send it by tracked & signed for post. This comes with £50 loss compensation. Currently the cost is £5.97 (UK Royal Mail), much better than the bank charges!!
