I am a decendent of William Lewis Williams. His grandson is my Uncle and I have some family history. What is your interest.

Hi Gwyrion,
Welcome to RootsChat, thank you for posting.

I'm interested in Dafarn Newydd as my 2xGt grandfather John Lewis (~1804-1874) was the brother of William Lewis (1808-1891), who was living there for all censuses 1841-1891. John Lewis left Anglesey in approx. 1830 to work at the copper mine in Llanberis, but he was at Dafarn Newydd with his brother William's family in 1841. I think I have traced the famiy back one further generation - to Hugh Lewis (d.1826) and his wife Anne Jones (d.1835).

I am keen to share what I have and to find out more from you. When you have made two more posts on RootsChat you can use the Personal Messages (PM) system (see https://www.rootschat.com/help/pms.php ) so we can exchange email addresses and I can invite you to view my tree, if you wish.

I have researched William Lewis Williams although I'm not closely related - he is my 3rd cousin once removed. I have the details of both his marriages and of his death by drowning at sea - but I expect you already have this information. I have also identified his two sets of parents-in-law, the fathers and mothers of both his wives.
By the way his date of birth was 31 Jan 1889, he was at Dafarn Newydd, aged two, for the 1891 census.

Please post again if you wish to exchange any information.
