The parents of Dick Hampden MCLENNAN

Who was born at Green Island, Dunedin on the 27th August 1896 (see the attached copy of part of his birth printout).

I have been unable to find the marriage for Dick's parents, or any trace of them in electoral rolls in New Zealand. Neither could I find them in census information from Britain, or in Australian indexes on ancestry. Can anyone help with this?

Dick was fostered by a family called Robertson, who lived in Queen St, Dunedin.

I can't see a marriage either, even on a wide search.

There is a copy of the certificate you provided in the files of the NZ Society of Genealogists, in case you didn't know.

Looking at NZ BDM online Dick was their only child.

Alice died in 1928 and was buried at Anderson's Bay Cemetery. Richard Hampden MCLENNAN died in 1940 and was also buried at Anderson's Bay Cemetery. He died intestate, which is very unhelpful!

Do you know who Isabella CAMPBELL might be and her relation to the family?

I'm pretty sure this is Dick - he is sometimes known as Richard.

I have quite a lot of information about Dick - his WW1 file, and various newspaper reports (a court case from October 1914, and others from after the war. He was badly shellshocked, and had a fascination with fire.)

The newspaper reports, and the burial are Dick's. The other person buried with him is his wife, who remarried.
