FIVE GUINNEAS REWARD - ESCAPED FROM A SHERIFF'S OFFICER
Whereas on the second day of July last, GEORGE RODDAM of Swinhope Burn near Westgate n the parish of Stanhope in the County of Durham, miner, was arrested by a Sheriff's Officer by virtue of an Execution for Debt, after which the said George Roddam made his escape and has not since been heard of. The said George Roddam is about 26 years of age, five feet five inches high, stoops in his walk, rather stout, dark hair, and had on when he escaped a green cloth shooting coat, dark waistcoat and fustian trowsers (sic).
Whoever will apprehend the said George Roddam and bring him to Mr Thos. Mainprize, Sheriff's Officer, Wolsingham in the County of Durham, will receive the above reward of Five Guinneas and be paid all expenses - August 12 1831
