I'll have a look, they usually married in the Wifes parish but as they both appear to come from Eckington that does'nt seem to be the case ???

David

If you are looking for Barkers in Chesterfield could you also keep your eyes open for my Hannah Barker who I believe was born in Stonegravels in 1809 the daughter of Francis Barker and Catherine Buck. They married in Chesterfield in Feb 1802.

Hannah married George Harrison in Dronfield in 1826 and went on to raise a large family in Middle Handley.

Thanks

Ian

OK, I've printed it out, but I only go every couple of weeks or so.

Thanks David

I'm not as far away as Anne, but Buckinghamshire to Matlock is still a good hike and not one I can do very often.

Hello Anne.

What year are you looking for a marriage...I haven't followed all the thread.

Half of my Eckington folk were married in either Sheffield or Rotherham.

Jayne McHugh also came across this when we were researching for her Staveley site.

Chesterfield parish church is also an option.

Hello Tuppie:
The year I am looking for is around 1830 - 31 as the first child born to the couple George Barker and Hannah Marples was born 28th Sept. 1831 in Eckington.

I know for sure Hannah's maiden name is Marples as I sent for the birth certificate of their daughter Rosetta Barker born 1845 so I could see what the mother's maiden name was.

Regards
Anne

Hi Anne.

You can rule out Sheffield St Peters (later Cathedral) there is no marriage there. I checked Monday.

Regards

Hi Tuppie:
Sorry I have been awhile in replying. Had my wisdom teeth (4) taken out on Tuesday.  So not feeling that great but each day gettinb better.  Thanks for looking guess I am back to trying different places.  Think I will leave this marriage till I am in Salt Lake next spring and just look through different parishes while I am there.

Thanks again

Dear Anne,
I seem to have lost the plot on this one, can you update me on what you have and what you need now, I had some other lookups connected to this and don't know what I've sent to who ???
