1981 E/R has Reginald William Charles Stuart living in Avon, Canterbury.   Can't see anything on the Burial Locator, have tried the soundex name as well.

1981 E/R has George Alexander Stuart in Clutha, Otago.  Burial Locator gives the Hocken Library Dunedin, Newspaper Obit.

From my Electoral Roll disc for 1911 there is a Charles and Elizabeth Stuart living at 283 Harewood Road, Riccarton.  Charles being a Farm labourer.

So sorry everyone - yes a typo,in 1883 (not 1833 doh).  Charles didn't have a middle name. I picked up the marriage in 1907, and the three births from the NZ BMD government site.  As the site only shows births prior to 100 years ago I cannot tell if there were more siblings.  Two of the names were different to the ones from the pedigree resource file on familysearch .org.  I am pretty sure that Jane Scott Stuart is correct however as Charles' mother was Jane Scott.  Thanks for the info on electoral rolls and school records and to Janette for the info on the death of George Alexander.  I now have a lot more to work on.  Thanks again
