William French Head Widower age 53 born c1828 Sheerness occ. Undertaker
I think his age is probably out though on 1881. There is a William French with wife Hannah in Sheerness on 1861 and 1871 Census who is a joiner, they have a son John born c1844 with them on 1861.
One of my ancestor's siblings was variously a carpenter/joiner and an undertaker on various records. However, it means that John was also a little economical with the truth on the census about his age as he's listed as 16 on the 1861 Census .. although the enumerator may have entered it incorrectly.
