Harriet Lee 1887-1951
« on: Sunday 29 June 14 20:02 BST (UK) »
Hello there.

Could any one help me with tracing my g granny's Harriet Lee 1887-1951 mother and farther's family?

Harriet married John Barnard 1886-1951 in West Ham 1912 no farther on her marriage cert

I've been told she had a brother called Flashion and her farther could have been called Edward (Ned) and her mother Sarah or Sal?

They come from East London and from a travelling family

Any help would be much appreciated Dave

Thank you for your post.

I have had contact with Tilly via Ancestry only today! And it was her that has gave me the info that I posted on Rootschat!

Tilly like me is not sure about Harriets people.

How do I view a PM ? I've only been on Rootschat for a couple of weeks!

Thanks again Dave

Hi

The absence of a fathers name on her marriage cert would suggest she was illegitimate.

There is no birth or any other entry for anybody called Flashion.  A public tree shows him as Edward Flashion Lee but another says Flashion Edward Lee - both show his birthyear as 1881.

He married as Edward Lee in 1909 and died as Edward Lee in 1965 so I don't know where the Flashion comes from as it's not on anything online

The nearest birth is an Edward Fassam J Lee b 1883 Thanet Kent.  Edward "Flashion" Lee married in Kent
