Guild records in Parchim, Thüringen
« on: Tuesday 01 July 14 21:54 BST (UK) »
I am wondering if anybody can help me.

I am looking for the guild records for butchers in Parchim, Thüringen. I know my ancestor was a member in the 1700s. He is described as follows in a book:

"Henry Caspar Schellhorn was a butcher working in Ilm by 1750. Later, he moved to Parchim in Mecklenburg, and in 1763 married a widow named Steffenhagen, born Eichler, and became a citizen and an official master of Parchim."

Hello,

Ilm might be https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stadtilm in Thuringia,

and Parchim is a town in Mecklenburg.

Ask at the "Stadtarchiv" (metropolitan archives).

There are still Schellhorn family members at Parchim in 1921 and at Stadtilm (19th century):
