Elizabeth Burdon of Little Eden (Castle Eden)
« on: Friday 04 July 14 09:07 BST (UK) »
Hi!
Can anyone help with the following?

I have an Elizabeth Burdon (sometimes spelt Bordon) born circa 1540, with brothers George, Thomas and John.

Elizabeth married William Sheraton of Elswick (died 1613/4) and had Christopher, William, Mary and Katherine. I believe Elizabeth was buried on 24 September 1621. Her brother John is listed as being of Little Eden.

I think Elizabeth may be related to the Bordon family of Stockton on Tees but have been unable to make the connection as yet.

The only record  can find is of a Thomas Bordon marrying an Elizabeth Tunstall in 1537 and having 6 sons and 3 daughters?

The Burdon family were well known at Castle Eden so any help much appreciated! :D

Hi Claire,
Many thanks for your information! I had found similar on the internet though very hard to understand or read in the format I had, however your information is much clearer so I will have a good look through it!
Thanks again, Andrew :D
