WILSON Siblings - Charlotte & Jane * Completed *

Hi guys,

I was looking for some information on my 3x great grandfather William's siblings. From what I've been able to find out so far, 6 of the 8 children came to Australia from Lincolnshire on the ship "Coldstream" with their parents Thomas and Elizabeth WILSON in 1864.

I can find information on William, Hannah (married before immigration), Elizabeth and Thomas, but I can't find anything about either Charlotte or Jane once they arrived in Victoria. Charlotte was born 1838 in Gosberton, Lincolnshire and Jane born 1852 in Donington, Lincolnshire.

The other 2 sisters are: Mary (born 1837 in Gosberton) and Susan (born 1840 in Gosberton). They didn't immigrate under the name WILSON. I haven't been able to find a marriage for them yet and don't know if they ever came over to Australia.

Hi Missyj

Can you give an idea of where in Victoria the family may have lived?  Did any of them have second names?  What are the death places/dates for the parents?

Answers to these questions may help pinpoint them a little better

The family is spread all over the place. Their father Thomas died in Talbot in 1892 and mother Elizabeth in South Australia in 1904.

Of the children I have researched:
William lived in Ballarat, Victoria and died in 1910.
Hannah lived in Broadmeadows (Melbourne), Victoria and died in 1876.
Elizabeth (we assume) lived in South Australia and died in McLaren Vale, South Australia in 1877.
Thomas lived in Ballarat, Victoria and died in 1935.

I've been working on this section of family for the last few months and definitely need some help!

I also looked into a marriage for Susan WILSON to William REYNOLDS that is in some other tree's that I've seen but from cemetery records and tracking down one of their descendants I know that this is not the Susan I'm looking for 

I don't have any second names for them either.

Can you account for each of them, to the extent that you know, after arrival ie marriages and deaths please.  Difficult with an ordinary name like WILSON.

Looks like two married sons....Harriett 25yrs and Mary Ann 20yrs are daughters in law?

Yes they are my family, except for Robert and Mary Ann.

Harriett is the daughter in law that was married to William. Their sister Hannah also immigrated with her husband on the same ship under the surname COCK.

Yes this is correct.

For Elizabeth I was about to attached the newspaper article of her death in SA. No BDM certificates for this family in Australia as I can't afford to purchase any at the moment. As I had the details for William's death (my direct ancestor) I didn't need them to continue my research into him. I have cemetery records for William, his brother Thomas and sister Hannah.

I have confirmation of Elizabeth and Thomas's marriage in Billingborough in England in 1835 and have census records for them in England.

A Thomas WILSON who died at Talbot VIC age recorded as 70yrs and the death was in 1895.
Father named Jno and mother nee RICHARDSON

Not possible to be the man married in 1835.

The other Thomas WILSON death was at Talbot Amherst in 1892 and age recorded as 78yrs.
