If he died during WW2 you do not need a death certificate. Just print of a copy of his death recorded on CWGC and that will do.

The unit your man is recorded with on the date of his death has a war diary. Annoyingly April to July appear to be missing. Looking at where he is buried is this where his family are from? I'm thinking he was evacuated from Normandy wounded and died in the UK. Families could request anyone who died in the UK to be returned to their local cemetery or they would be buried in the nearest appropriate cemetery. I would get those service records though, they should hold some useful clues.
