Please Help Decipher Cemetery Record - Completed
« on: Sunday 13 July 14 17:54 BST (UK) »
Hello,

We are having a terrible time dealing with the Pasadena Cemetery Association in trying to discover where my gg grandfather is buried. We have a copy of the original receipt and want to sent them the information, but I'm having a issue with the first line:

1914 Jan 23  To (item ?) Grars. 1 (?) Lot 1320    14.00

Anyway, I can manage all the rest. Does anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate the help. I know there are some first-rate code-breakers here!

Thank you,
Lizzy

Just send them a photocopy of the receipt, with your request. It should make sense to them.

Could very well be. Poor old Thomas Henry was born in Nottinghamshire, emigrated to Ontario and Michigan, then moved to Washington State in his 60s and finally died in Pasadena. His 2nd wife buried him there and then stiffed his first family of their legacy. I guess she had no intention of remaining in Pasadena, hence the "1 Grave" notation. I will present this to the Pasadena Cemetery Association and get the info out of them. They say they have no record and his grave is unmarked.

Thank you, all.
