Thomas Sykes and Sarah Piggott
« on: Friday 18 July 14 11:58 BST (UK) »
Hi!
Does anyone have access to the marriage registers for Great Addington?

I have a Thomas Sykes marrying a Sarah Piggott on 10 January 1822 at Great Addington. I was wondering if anyone can shed any light on possible witnesses to the marriage?

Thomas and Sarah had the following issue:

Joanna 1823, Ann 1825, Sophia (Sophy) 1828, William 1829, Susannah 1832, Thomas 1836, Mary 1839, Jane 1840 and George 1844.

Thomas Sykes was the illegitimate son of a James Sykes and Susanna Clerk/Clark (nee Hefford) and he was born 1799 at Woodford Northampton.

Sarah Piggotts possible parents are Thomas Piggott and Ann Limbery (Sarah baptised 1799 Luton Baptist Church).

Cannot find any other Piggotts at Great Addington around the time.

On the 1841 census Sarah lists county of birth as Northamptonshire, in 1851 lists Spaldwick, Huntingdonshire as place of birth? Sarah died in 1852 so no further information.

Any help much appreciated! :D

Hi 0191alex11.

I am afraid that the witnesses won't help much.

10 Jan 1822 Banns

Thomas Sykes, Bachelor, Great Addington & Sarah Piggott, Spinster, otp
Both signed their marks

Witnesses: William Harris Jun'r, William Harris Sen'r
