Mary dau of Will Elliot, (Mark't??  -  think it might be where they live) and of Mary, bo(rn) ?3 Dec  Christmas(s)

Maybe she was baptised at Christmas maybe?? - but they all seemed to be signed like that so maybe the vicar/priest's name was Christmass.

Not sure what the last column says.   Looks like a date - but not sure   :-\

Not sure but that's what I am seeing - I think!   ;)

Think your thought about occupation is better than place of living Judy - and yes that's better born and Christened! - much better.    ;)

Definitely occupation as Judy said.  There are Joyner, printer, weav(e)r, Coop(er), Goldsmyth etc in that position.

The letters are M-a-r-c-h-t.  Superscript t indicates letters have been omitted.

If it were M-e-r-c-h-t, then definitely Merch(an)t.

As it is, probably Merchant, unless someone can suggest another occupation which fits that pattern when shortened.

I think Mare?t

The first three letters look like the first three of Mary (lots of examples on the page).

Not that that helps, as it doesn't seem to make sense as an occupation ...

It says "Marcht" = marchant = merchant. The Old French is "marchant" and this is the origin of the English. The first "a" survived for quite a while in some places. In Scotland at the time, you often find "marchand".
