Inquest Robert Howard.
« on: Wednesday 23 July 14 02:12 BST (UK) »
Hi I am tracing my husband's family tree. I have come across a newspaper item in the Newcastle Guardian re Mr Howard pilot who died at Dover on the 24/8/1865. He was drowned and the body recovered at Dover. I think this is a reference to Robert Howard pilot. He did not live in the Kent area however I thought the inquest may have been held in Dover. Please advise where I may find the inquest records. Robert Howard was in the merchant navy and was originally from Gt Yarmouth.
Thank you vhowie.

Hi,

A copy of the death certificate will gave the name of the Coroner and the date of the Inquest; with those details you should be able to locate the archives most likely to be holding the file, if it has survived.
