Hi. New to rootschat and very interested in family history. Starting with Liversidge family in South Yorkshire but have wandered into Wager  of Howden and Young of Shepton Mallet. Looking forward to the experience.

Hi Judith

We have separate boards for each county which you might find better suited to your research needs.

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?board=1.0

You'll also find links to local resources there as well.

Don't forget to add your names to our surnames interest table, the link is in the brown section at the bottom of the page or direct from here.

And please take a moment to read our guidelines for posting as we have a couple of rules regarding no living people and copyright issues.

Happy hunting!

Hi Judith

Welcome to Rootschat, I'm sure you will have a wonderful time researching your family tree, lots of help available on both the forum boards and indeed the very friendly chatroom.

One piece of advice ...(often neglected when folks start research and regret later) is not adding the source material ie where the information was found and the ref numbers if applicable.

So as you find your family and build your tree please add the vital source information it will I promise become vital as you gain knowledge and grow your tree.

Hope you enjoy your new ....very addictive hobby

best wishes

Thanks for all your good wishes! It really is a friendly site. I must say the site is a bit taxing for beginners but I am hoping to not make too many mistakes. I have good and valuable information and its only been the first day. Thanks again.
