Hi,did I mention that this is my first day on Roots Chat? I have spent about a month looking for George Gornell. I know he died in 1906( Reference ID: Bur3, pg173, cn1378) in Belmont Durham and his 'wife' Mary died in 1902. she is actually called Mary Crozier Gornall. (Reference ID: Bur3, pg141, cn1122).
The Richard Gornall who is a miller from Wigan, I traced George and he is happily married with his own brood.
That is definitely George and Mary in Belmont in 1901.
I will list all the references I have for him that I am certain about. (I don't know if the references are correct, so forgive me if I mess this up!)

On roots chat, which is how i found this forum someone in 2005 was asking about George and Mary Wardle.
"I am searching for information concerning the following persons:
1. John Sykes was born ca. 1857 in Golcar, Yorkshire, parents unknown.
2. Mary Wardle in the 1881 census, was living at Constitution Place, York, St. Margaret Walmgate, Yorkshire, England, with her husband, George Wardle. George's occupation was a pavior and he was 53 and was b.c. 1828 in Holme, Yorkshire, England. Mary ( maiden name unknown ) was 47 in 1881 and was b.c. 1834 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England.
I am searching for any information about the above persons, their parents, their children, their family ancestry, Mary's maiden name, and perhaps information about them in the 1841, 1851, 1861, and 1871 censuses. Any help at all would be very much appreciated."
Thank you so much for all your help, you've all been brilliant. Also could you tell me how to access the document from the ref numbers? thanks again, Anne
