Anyone know of shipper's son who drowned around 1864? Hailed from Paisley or thereabouts. Name could have been James or Alexander. Born c1845. Died c1864. Engaged to marry Margaret Patrick soon after 1864. Drowned  probably in Irish Sea or on the Clyde with his own commercial 'ship'.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat

Can we have a christian name and birthyear please?

Where did he drown - in Scotland or elsewhere?

If in Scotland - you can look his death up on Scotlands People  www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
