Did anyone find the DOB for Christopher Shears born December quarter 1903.

Looks like his middle name was Breckon.

Now an interesting aside there is a 'Kit' Breckon who played for the club about the same time.

There are 2 Christopher Shears - one October 1903 birth registered which is Christopher Breckon Shears but I can't find that CS dying but there is a death of a Christopher Shears in June 1979 in Cleveland with a corresponding birth day of 13 October 1900.

There are definitely 2 separate birth registrations in 1900 and 1903 for presumably different Christopher's but I can't find Christopher B dying in the UK.  Will have to see if he possibly went abroad.

I tried looking for a Kit Shears.

He was known as Kit throughout his career at Whitby and went to play for Scarborough Penguins in the late 1920s early 30s.

Another:
Richard Chambers Jun 1927 in Whitby  9d   764 Mother Walker. Also on the freebmd they give a K as a middle initial but not sure what the K is for.
d. Cannot find his death as yet, but I know he was playing in a local league in the 50s.

Dickie Chambers as he was known may very well had a naval career as well.

Richard King Chambers born 10 April 1927, died June 1985 at Whitby (2/2644)

Christopher/Kit is eluding the passenger lists as well.....

I am convinced that Kit/chris Shears never used Breckon in his name. Nowhere in the reports or notes is Breckon mentioned except for the Kit Breckon who I believe to be another person.

Richard KING Chambers interesting.

could he then be the CS that was born in 1900 (how definite are you he was born in 1903?), particularly when the 1900 CS dies he is in the right bit of the country?

1900 CS doesn't have anything in the 'infirmity' column of the 1911 census though and if he was deaf and dumb it should have been reported in there

that looks like it could be him and the infirmity column does have him down as deaf so with the Whitby birth place that definitely is the 1903 born one, being Christopher Breckon Shears.   The death though is another issue  ;D

think what was throwing me is that the birthplace is transcribed wrong as Bradford on Ancestry and correct as Whitby on findmypast....

So we've confirmed that it's th Oct 1903 Christopher Breckon Shears. :)

What was the date?

I think he may have been in Scarborough or Hartlepool areas later in life.

birth registration is just flagging as October - if we can find the death then it may have the birth date on it.

there's a couple of marriages Hartlepool way that could be him but they wont particularly help unfortunately as they are
