Might it be the name of a particular island in the Philippines?

B/Dabateo looks like but I really don't know!  Just had a look at the Philippines but, unless it were a major islands, it wouldn't be named on the map I was looking at.

There is one called Bagatao.  Maybe a spelling/hearing error?? :-\

I suppose a trawl through place names might find it. I suppose you will need to take misspellings into account as well. :-\

I've found a Bagatao Island. A quick scan suggests a lighthouse was built there by Americans in about 1904.
