The father is Tho or Thos. - ie Thomas, but can't make out the occupation. :P
What part of the country is this in? Might make a difference with pronunciation or range of occupations.
Lane, Burgess: Cheshire. Finney, Rogers, Gilman:Derbys
Cochran, Nicol, Paton, Bruce:Scotland. Bertolle:London
Bainbridge, Christman, Jeffs: Staffs

Tricky one.

Might it be bootsmith? It does look like a gh at or near the end though.

Looking at the repeated letters, and comparing them to others, I now wonder if they are "e"s.
Wheelwright?

Just modified my reply above to suggest Wheelwright too Mike :D

They do look like e's compared with e in Dyer although there does appear to be another e after the l :-\

I think the occupation is "Heelemakr" (heelmaker, makes heels of shoes). The letter that looks like a 'g' is actually an 'a' plus the loop of the raised 'r' of laborr from the line below.
