Many thanks to every one. Millicent's father was definitely a Head Teacher--its on her second Marriage cert which I hold--so thank you for solving things.

oh thank you for this. Had looked without success. Had not expected her to marry so late in life.

I think this might be her Death:

Name:    Phyllis Williams
Birth Date:    21 Apr 1909
Date of Registration:    Jun 1989
Age at Death:    80
Registration district:    Swansea
Inferred County:    Glamorgan
Volume:    27
Page:    2606

This might be the right Death Entry for John H. Williams, (there are several):

Name:    John H Williams
Birth Date:    abt 1906
Date of Registration:    Mar 1969
Age at Death:    63
Registration district:    Swansea
Inferred County:    Glamorganshire
Volume:    8b
Page:    855

Best Wishes, Romilly.

John's Death Cert will probably have Phyllis as the Informant.

I would suggest that Phyllis' Death Cert is the important one to order, - because it might give you names and addresses of relatives who were living in 1989...

Let us know how you get on!

Good Luck, Romilly.

Hello
Just by way of update. Now have the death cert for a Phyllis Williams but alas not mine. This is for a lady who was Phyllis Hathaway prior to her marriage.
She was the widow of A Haydon London Williams of 439 Middle road ,Glenras ?Swansea.
Happy to pass it on to the right family--is there somewhere I should post that ??

Oh dear, - that is a shame!

(I have ordered more wrong Certs for my elusive Wilson Grandfather than I care to remember, - and so I know how frustrating it is... :-(

There are of course a lot of Williams...

There is this Death:
Phyllis Elizabeth J Williams Birth Date:    14 May 1907
death registered   Jun 1973 age 66 Folkestone RD
5f Page:    1103

The initials certainly look good, - & I suppose she might have retired to Kent? Have you got her Birth Cert btw? (Ages on Censuses can vary).

I think there is a Board on here for Unwanted Items, - (just go to the main Forum page, & scroll down).

Romilly.
