Charles Stuart (born Youghal 1883)arrived in 1903

I recently posted a request for info about my great uncle and had several replies - thanks!.  However I have now been able to look at the ship's manifest for the SS Paparoa and the Charles Stuart listed is shown as Scotch (sic), not Irish.  Does anyone have any further info to help clarify this?  There is a Pedigree Resource File on familysearch.org submitted by J S Crosby which shows Charles Stuart, with parents William Stuart and Jane Scott definitely arriving in NZ and marrying Elizabeth McDonald, but I would like to be sure of my facts.  Any info gratefully received.

Hello...

I think your man is buried in an RSA plot at Bromley Cemetery in Christchurch. This corresponds with the 1943 death found by Janette in reply 8 of your earlier thread.

The burial record says "40 year in NZ" which ties in with a 1903 arrival.

His Attestation is page 15. It mentions he was born in Ireland to parents William STUART and Jane SCOTT

I wouldn't rely on submitted information on FamilySearch,it can be very misleading,

Thanks very much for the service record info.  Had not found that before and it does make it look as if I am on the right track.  Only mentioned the manifest from the SS Paparoa as it seemed to put a spanner in the works!  Thanks again
