MANN (and WARNER) Family Bible
« on: Tuesday 28 June 05 13:19 BST (UK) »
According to my cousin my grandparents had a family bible which I would love to locate.

The surnames would be MANN and WARNER, both from Cambridge in the 20th Century and Suffolk in the 19th Century.

Can anyone help me locate it please?

Thank you

Brenda

Hello Rhubarb

My earlist Warner is a Charles born about 1798 according to his burial record. I have no idea where he came from though. He married, lived and died in Hitcham, Suffolk.

His children's names were: Marianne, Sophia, Charlotte & Sarah.

If you think you may be able to identify him I would love to hear from you.

Regards

Brenda

Brenda,
I am also looking for a Mann bible which, I last saw approx. 30 years ago.
It belonged to my great grandparents Edward and Martha Mann, from Blyth Northumberland.
Edwards grandfather Robert Mann was registered in the 1861 census, the year before he died as born in Suffolk, previous census he was registered as born in Northumberland. He is very elusive, so if you come across a dissapearing Robert Mann born approx 1811 somewhere in Suffolk I'd love to know.
All the best with your search.
Northumberland; Mann, Lynn, Waters, Pyle, Murray. Yorkshire; Ellis, Heckison, Proctor.
Lincolnshire; Wilkinson, Dawson.
Cumberland; Doran, Murray. Cheshire; Sutton,

I'm afraid I have no Robert MANNs for the period. However, Mann is a very common name in Suffolk so I suggest you keep looking.

Good luck
