Can't find him in the Civil Registration for some reason but RootsIreland gives a result for a Baptism in the Curragh RC 1868 father James mother Elizabeth.

Sinann, I've registered with the Kildare site and found the one notification for Roberts Baptism, but when I filled in the required Father and Mothers names it came back no results. any idea where I'm going wrong?

Try just with the father, if that works try with the mother, if that doesn't work she isn't named.
Try her first and surname separately.
It's not looking good.

Sinann, Thanks to your help I have managed to find the maiden name of my G Grandmother,
And have also traced their marriage certificate, at St John Co Limerick 1860.
I'm really pleased with the result, have been trying for sometime. Thanks again John
