I am still waiting for the marriage certificate, so at the moment I do not know when Bridget was born.

I found a death of a James J Steele in 1947 in Amersham, the birth year would be correct, but Amersham is in Buckinghamshire, a very long way from Gateshead Durham

The marriage certificate arrived today

The Bridget mentioned by Rosie is the wrong person

Bridget was born in 1893/1894 to John Farrell

She died in 1922

Did James ever remarry?
