Can anyone advise if patients at Bodmin Asylum would have been listed in the 1911 census?

Yes they were listed. In 1901 it was just first initial and surname. 1911 it tends to be full name.

Thank you! Do you know what I need to search for to pull up the 1911 census records for the asylum? I've tried searching by "bodmin lunatic asylum" but doesn't seem to work!

Hi everyone!

I've found the person I'm looking for at Bodmin in the 1911 census - in the Infirmity column at the end of the page, there is a '31' next to his name. (Different numbers in no order for the people before and after him.) Does anyone know what this means?

Possibly the age when they were admitted to the asylum .
Someone I was looking for in the 1911 census was in the asylum and her age was 71 and in the infirmity column the number was 69. I know that in the previous census she was at home with her husband.
