Baptism of Jane & William Davies. Llangollen
« on: Sunday 10 August 14 11:14 BST (UK) »
Hello. I am searching for the baptisms of Jane Davies (c1832) and William (c. 1835) in Llangollen. Their parents were baptised and buried in Wern Chapel in Minera, so I expect a non-conformist baptism for the children. The Blackwell Index is out of stock so i cannot check that. Does anyone out there have a copy they could look at? Father Jacob Davies, a joiner, mother Catherine Savage.

Hi

I have a copy and I know of at least two other RC members who have copies.  I'm busy this morning but if no one has checked by later today, I'll look for the baptisms  :)

Hi  again

I've done a fairly thorough search of Blackwell - checked both the Wrexham  and Llangollen  circuits  and could not find Jane. I then did a global search on Jacob Davies. The only entry that came up with Jacob Davies and Catherine (Savage) was for bpt of Abraham in 1827, at Wern Chapel. Their abode was given as Bersham then.

I'll see if they are listed in some other sources and get back if I find anything.

Thank you so very much! Abraham is William and Jane's brother. Jacob and Catherine were both buried in Wern Chapel in 1839 and 1864 respectively. Jane too when she died in 1870, and William the same year.
