I have two census entries for Ann one with Alice in 1871 and then the 1881 where Ann is living with Mary and these both state that she was born in Edinburgh. Whereas all the paperwork I have for Mary does state that she was born in Ireland about 1845.
I have use scotlandspeople to search for a death of Con, searching between 1851-1871 I haven't been able to find a death for him. I have also tried to see if I could find Con, Alice and the children in the 1861 census, as I though that if Annie was born in Edinburgh then they might have been in the census but haven't found a match there either.
Thank you for your advice, I will draw up a timeline and trace my steps.
