1891 census help needed
« on: Wednesday 20 August 14 16:05 BST (UK) »
Hi, i am trying to locate Eliza Bingham born in Gainsborough in 1886 in the 1891 census, in 1901 she is a servant and in 1911 she is a cook to George S Cook, in 1913 she married George S Cook.
the difficulty is not knowing her parents names to find her in 1891 as she was a servant.

Hope someone can find her.

Best regards

Jason

Hi, if you meant Gainsborough, Lincs as opposed to Gainsborough, Suffolk could this be the family?

1891   Class: RG12; Piece: 2634; Folio: 122; Page: 36

Joseph Brigham  30   Gardner's Laborer (sic)
 Hannah Brigham  23
 Eliza Brigham  5
 Rebeccah Brigham  3
 James Jefferys  19

All born Gainsborough.
This could easily be Bingham on the actual census entry.

There is a Bingham family in Gainsborough in 1891, but no Eliza there.

RG 12. 2635. 33 16

Parents Johh and Sarah

Ah - Pheno has found a better one!!!!

(No mention of Suffolk, and is on Lincs board, so no reason to think it is anywhere other than Gainsborough Lincolnshire that is meant ?)
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

There is a Charlotte E Bingham with her widowed mother and siblings in Gainsborough Linc's. Included in household is an ELIZA Scott,  Charlotte's grandmother. Could this be a possibility? Perhaps Charlotte's middle name was Eliza and she later chose to be known by this name. Just a possibility.
Wormwell, Whitaker, Lancashire
Ellis, Flintshire
Stephens, Kent
Sherred, Devon/Kent
