Armstrong family
« on: Thursday 21 August 14 12:10 BST (UK) »

I have been researching the Armstrong family, and a lot of people doing similar research on Ancestry.com seem to have made a connection between Waltheorf, Earl of Northumberland and Northampton and a Henry Ursus Armstrong. Henry being his son, however according to the "chronicles of the Armstrongs" the Earl Waltheorf had no male descendants. Can anyone shed any light on where this connection can be verified?  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

My thoughts?

1. NEVER trust any tree on Ancestry (or any other website) that cannot provide documentary proof of EVERY connection!

2. Concentrate on your own family, documenting every link step-by-step; generation by generation.

History books are often wrong, and many "family trees" have been concocted over the years to satisfy political, financial, of family-fued reasons.
