Unfortunately Victor Harvey the site you have provided is for American newspapers only although it will come in handy for looking at my American relatives! :)

Hi littlefacey,
My apologies, I must have had a brainstorm, thinking it was Portsmouth, New Hampshire, USA.

If it's the 19th Century you are looking at then there they are online or at your local library. If you are in Devon then try this website.

http://www.devon.gov.uk/onlinereference

if you don't have a library ticket get one, they are free

Then get searching. If it's 20th Century, try a library in Portsmouth.
