Can anyone check James Smith b Cowley Oxfordshire abt 1818, a James Smith occupation Bricklayer in 1838 tried at the Oxford City Sessions 31st Dec 1838 age 20 for petty larceny, sentence 4 months and a whipping, married Mary Ann Packford in 1840 Headington, also a James Smith age 33 a Bricklayer states, married, in the 1851 census is in the City Goal St Mary Magdalene possibly sentenced for receiving stolen goods 14 years, trying to trace his family in the 1851 census, wife Mary Ann & children Sarah age 10, Ann age 7, many thanks

in 1851 you want Mary (ann) smith, Sarah aged 10 and Ann aged 7 .

James Smith was born in 1818 Cowley & died 1888 in Headington
Mary Ann Packford was born in Marston died 1905 in Headington
Sarah Ann was born in 1841 in Headington died 1892 in Brisbane Australia
Mary Ann or possibly Ann was born in 1844 Headington
Elizabeth was born 1852 in Headington
Lucy was born in 1855 in Headington
Charles was born in 1857 in Headington,
i have James & family on the 1861 census living in Pettyfair Row St Clements & in the 1871 & 1881 census's they are living in Magdalene Road Cowley.
