Jane (wife of Thomas) Lisle (housewife) and daughter Annie Lisle (nurse) on the Canada Voters list 1957 at 583 Mortimer York East. (No sign of Thomas)

Canada Voters List 1963/65 Jane Lisle listed as widow and Annie Lisle nurse - same address.

Someone has an ancestry tree with William Walter Lisle married to Maude Chorley (1897 - 1964)
The death of William Walter Lisle born 6 March 1891 - shown as died 15 Feb 1961 (doesn't say where)

Sandra

Hi,

Couldn't find William doing any sort of name search, so I used these dates and looked at the death records in the Star...

William Walter Lisle died on 15 Feb 1961 -- at his home 3610 St Clair Ave East.   Aged 70.  Husband of Maud Chorley.  Father of Mrs Robert Wallace of Agincourt.  Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Toronto Star, 15 Feb 1961, page 33

Thank you all for taking the trouble to reply, so quickly.

RK, Sandra,  it looks as though Sarah died and William re-married, do you have any suggestions as to how I could find this out? Ancestry doesn't seem to have the necessary records.

Once again thank you all for the assistance.

Quick update I've now found a copy of the Maude Chorley marriage in 1926 on Family Search, she marries a William Lyall (a bachelor) the son of an Edward Lyall and Mary Nichol. I can't see that William Walter Lisle is the same person who marries Maude.
Hopefully something will pop up on Ancestry to conform what happened to him and Sarah.

Obit for Maud says she died September 17,1965 at the home of her daughter, Mary (Mrs. R. Wallace), 69 Shilton Road, Agincourt (a part of Scarborough, now all part of the City of Toronto).  Also names one granddaughter. Buried at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Eileen thank you such a swift reply.

I'm trying to find out what happened to a William Walter Lisle who married a Sarah H Patterson in Toronto in 1919 but they seem to disappear after their wedding. Maude not related to the Lisle I'm trying to trace, although there are trees which him married to her.
