Portuguese Marriage certificate

Hi can anyone point me in the right direction to obtain a Portuguese marriage certificate, please?  We dont know the precise date other than the marriage took place in the 1960s and we *think* it was in Lisbon.

Would the parties in question both Portuguese, or might one of them have been British?

There's a list of ways to apply to the Portuguese authorities here including a PDF form you could print off.

Wow, thanks both.

Jorose - one was British and one was Portuguese.  Unfortunately, in the case of the wife (the Brit) her previous marriage had not been dissolved so it was illegal in any event.

We need the certificate for legal reasons.  Despite me pointing out that the certificate is completely irrelevant the authority requesting it wont listen and insists.  Jobsworth numpty.

Okay, well in that situation it doesn't seem likely she would have wanted to inform the British authorities! (In the case of an expat family planning to return to the UK it would be different).

I don't know how easily they'll be able to track down something for you if it happened outside Lisbon, but fingers crossed.
