1861 - Kent - WHEELER
« on: Saturday 17 July 04 12:01 BST (UK) »
This is a long shot, and probably an impossible task; I can only ask:
On 1861 Census - I am trying to find EDWARD WHEELER, Age 9, possibly with mother Ann.
He was born 2 May 1851 in East Lane, Blue Town, SHEERNESS.
It would be very helpful if I can find hime on 1861 census, as I suspect he was illegitimate.
If he is not in Sheerness, he is possibly in Plumstead area - he was married there in 1876.
His birth registration gives mother as ANN WHEELER - no father details.
His marriage gives father's surname only (Wheeler) and occupation - policeman.
There was a John Wheeler (Policeman) in East lane, but his wife was Elizabeth. They both died before 1861.

IF Edward was the illegitimate son on Ann and Edward Wheeler, is it likely she would have used Edwards surname?
Any help much appreciated.
My emails are not working sorry
